I have just been sent a newsletter re MindMapping which includes a review of OpenMind 2 BE.  Our Transformation Teachers don’t have this version yet!!! nevertheless I think the review is well worth reading and can be found by clicking this link. I hope this it useful.   Please contactme with any sample of OpenMind mind maps that you have produced.

At the moment, I am planning to do an ICT project over 4 lessons with a Year 8 class … this will involve research, and I am planning on teaching them how to use OpenMind as a way of planning their research. We will then be able to produce powerpoints or other forms of presentation. That’s the plan anyway … it should start next Monday, so I’ll let you know how it goes!

ooh, my plan is similar and I agree that openmind is a fab starting place for a project.

I am planning to do a project wth my top set year 9 who after SATS will be disengaged to the max! So the plan is to start a project called ‘My London’. I want them to do a project in groups and would like them to film ‘their’ London inclding their migration to the Uk and their area and what London means to them.
‘Their London’ presentations will be filmed and edited or podcasted with photos. The only problem is software – do we have editing software for them to use?
If not we will stick with the podcasting and they could add their films and do a voiceover.
Very exciting! This will start after May half term I hope!

Amy are you going to use OpenMind to plan the project. The editing could be at school using MovieMaker on the PC’s. You will need to check with your technicians if this is available for the students to use. It’s very easy to pick up but if you want some help then phone us and we will see what we can do.

Amy, I love the sound of this project – do you think the finished results will be able to viewed by us somewhere?
